The Open is just a couple of weeks away and we are so looking forward to 2022’s Friday Night Lights!
Friday Night Lights (FNL) is a special CrossFit tradition. Every Friday night during the CrossFit Open, Eximo sets up a competition style format and the FNL athletes complete the Open workout in a series of heats with specified movement standards and judges.
But FNL is more than just a competition (although there’s plenty of that if that’s what you’re looking for). FNL is more about camaraderie, and a way to build community connections during the CrossFit Open season. During FNL, Eximo celebrates inclusion no matter your age, limitations, injuries, or time away from the gym. No matter your fitness level you can still help your team either through completing the workouts from CrossFit Headquarters or by other weekly challenges.
If you can’t make to FNL, no sweat! (See what I did there? *wink*) We will still be offering the workout during regular group class times. This time is also a good way for the coaches to prep and strategize.
But mostly, we love FNL for the community aspect. You get to see familiar faces and help your team earn points for the nationally recognized competition. And we love FNL because a competitive atmosphere pushes us out of our comfort zones. We also love it because we’re all united for the same goal. FNL is a celebration of our collective fitness, and who doesn’t want to cheer that on?
So come on out, cheer on your team (and anyone else that needs it), and enjoy the party! There’s nothing else like the CrossFit Open!
Happy sweating,
Erica
