The holidays are here! There are lights! And parties! And presents!
And food… Lots and lots and lots of food.
It’s hard to stay motivated to eat right and workout during the holidays. Our normal diet and exercise routines are thrown off by all the holiday crazy. It’s so easy to make excuses, the food is better, we’re all too busy for vegetables. I get it.
Every year we tell ourselves that we’re going to stay motivated. This year, let’s make it happen.
- Keep the right mindset.
Your mindset is everything. If you enter the holidays dedicated to your goals then you’ll see them through. Spot excuses for what they are, and make time to take care of yourself. Involve family members if you can’t get away by yourself. Everyone can benefit from moving more during the holidays. - Buddy up!
Make a plan with a friend. Knowing that someone else is waiting on you makes you more likely to follow through. Accountability is priceless, even if it’s just a text message while you’re both on travel. - Schedule your workouts.
Make a plan for your workouts and stick with it. Each day take a look at your schedule and find some time to move. You will feel better for following through. - Involve the kids.
Balancing all of the holiday activities can be difficult, but you don’t have to choose between spending time with loved ones and getting your workout in. Find a chance to go on a hike with your family. You can all dance around the kitchen. You can even try an outdoor team sport or a fitness class. - Do short workouts
High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workouts are great when you’re short on time. HIIT workouts accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. You can pack in cardio and strength training into 20-30 minutes.
Stick to your goals this holiday season. Come by Eximo or click here (https://eximofitness.com/) to set up a No Sweat Intro.
Happy Sweating!
