The holidays are here, and now’s the time of year that people are traveling more. Keeping fit while on the road is especially challenging. Read on for some tips to make it easier.
Plan Ahead
Most cities will have at least a few hotels with gym options. Unless you need to stay at a specific hotel due to logistics do your research ahead of time and either find a gym with an adequate gym or find a hotel within walking distance of a gym. Google makes it very simple to find businesses near hotels, so unless you’re traveling to the middle of nowhere, odds are good you can find somewhere to get a decent workout in.
Bring Resistance Bands
Resistance bands are a great portable strength training option. They’re light, they don’t take up a lot of space in luggage, and if you have a basic knowledge of strength training, you can get a good workout in anywhere you are. Bring along a few bands of varying resistance levels, and get creative!
Enjoy the Scenery
Use your cardio time to get out and see the world! Why stare at a TV or (worse) a wall on a treadmill when you could be out exploring? Make it fun and take pictures of your new environment along the way. A beautiful city skyline or scenic nature views are a far better option.
Staying fit during the holidays can be a huge challenge. But with a little forethought, you can turn your active routine into the best part of your trip.
Happy sweating!
